What Is The Luxury In A Luxury Cruise
A lot of cruise lines will offer luxury cruises these days but are they really that luxurious or are they simply a normal cruise that costs a bit more?
You might be planning a cruise vacation for a special occasion. Often this type of cruise is as a retirement present to yourself or maybe to celebrate a special birthday. For the younger people amongst us it could be a honeymoon cruise.
In all these instances you are probably looking for something relaxing, away from the hustle bustle of everyday life and probably away from the kids as well. You would probably not be happy to board the ship and find a load of screaming teenagers in the night club all night long would you, even though you had a luxury cabin.
So you need to do some further investigations when you are organizing a luxury cruise. You have to accept that to get the right atmosphere you will probably have to pay considerably more than for a normal cruise ship vacation. Here are some of the extra comforts except for the luxury cabin that you should be expecting for the extra money.
One of the highlights of this special cruise should be the food and drink side of it. It would be very nice if you could get a glass of champagne before dinner every night and then a good bottle of wine to accompany a first class meal. The waiters should all be able to explain to you exactly what the food they are serving is and the wine waiters should have a knowledge in the differences of the wines on offer.
Ideally you would like this to be served at a quiet table for two in the dining room but you might also look at the option of having it delivered to your cabin on a couple of nights at no extra cost.
You could expect that any music on board would be quiet and not overpowering like it is on some cruise liners. You would like an area where you can away from the music altogether and just simply relax. You might like a nice ballroom for some romantic dancing instead of the head banging noise that we so often hear.
It is nice to have a steward available to help you embark and disembark so that you do not have to carry your own luggage around. One of the best holiday experiences that I ever had was when we left the suitcases at a hotel near the airport and the next time we saw them was in our cabin. People remember little luxuries like this.
Obviously luxurious travel like this does come at a cost. The main one being for all the extra crew that are required to provide these services. You should be looking for a crew to passenger ratio of o0nly one to one in fact.
It is possible to get all these things but there are very few liners or cruise companies that offer them. Just check around here on the internet to discover those that will give you that special luxury cruise.
