Holiday Activity Guide
If you are stuck for ideas on what to do for a holiday this year you could always choose to make your trip a special themed holiday. Choose from a variety of themes and make them the focus of your trip. For a brief guide here are just a few examples you can choose from.
First why not make your trip a full-on surfing holiday? There are always numerous specialist surfer hotels, camps and resorts available in addition to a number of specialist tour operators who deal exclusively in surfing holidays. These will range from holidays that are ideal for the seasoned surfer to those for the less experienced.
With this in mind, novices should always consider taking their holiday at a special surfing school resort where they will receive expert guidance from a qualified instructor. Many will take to the waves almost immediately, while for others up to two weeks of instruction may be necessary.
Alternatively, you could always try a paragliding holiday. Paragliding is essentially very similar to hang gliding. The only difference is that a hang glider keeps its wing shape through a rigid frame and a paraglider canopy retains its shape through air pressure. Also closely related to parachutes, paragliders are essentially made for descending although they do have the facilities to enable its occupant to steer.
As for where to go, this will be a matter of taste. Some resorts may offer the optimum flying conditions while others may offer spectacular landscapes. The fact remains, of course, different countries will have diverse seasons but depending on your preferences, there will always be somewhere to go that offers great flying conditions and sunny skies.
A specialist walking holiday is another alternative. The important factor here will be to take in one or two considerations. First, you will need to ascertain which type of walking holiday you may prefer as there are several. Second, you will need to consider you own experience and fitness levels. Finally, you will need to decide on your ideal location.
In reality, there are numerous walking holidays to choose from for either novices or the more experienced. A gentle hiking holiday may be the one for you, many of which may be combined with other activities such as photography or birdwatching. Alternatively, you may feel you have what it takes to confront a more challenging heavy terrain trekking vacation.
For those looking for a touch of relaxation, a cruise holiday may be the ideal choice. Many cruises mix pleasure and relaxation with plenty of culture, it is just a question of deciding where you may want to cruise to. The Mediterranean Sea is certainly one of the finest cruise destinations. The Med is a huge inland sea that has the advantage of connecting to the Atlantic Ocean and is bordered by Europe, Asia and Africa.
Finally for something different why not try an `art holiday`. Whichever one of the arts is your preferred genre, you can always choose to combine your holiday with a chance to catch up, whether you are a practising artist or enthusiastic viewer. For theatre lovers, many holiday destinations will have places to pick up your theatre tickets, while there are also plenty of specialist culture tours available.
