A Cruise Ship Vacation Is A Safe Holiday
Cruise ship vacation holidaying has become very popular recently, particularly with the older generation. Most people who take a holiday on a cruise enjoy themselves.
A very small few have an unhappy experience.
Nevertheless, it is a good idea to take a look at how safe a cruise ship vacation is. In reality, there are few accidents but accidents do happen. So it is still important to be aware at all times. Here are some ideas of things that you can do to protect yourself.
1. Prepare everything well before you are due to depart.
You will be almost certainly be visiting foreign countries on your trip so make sure that your passport is not out of date.
It is also sensible to have your drivers licence with you as well. Before leaving for your vacation take a couple of copies of them. Take the originals and one copy with you and leave the other at home.
While you are on board they should be kept in a safe place all the time.
2. When you embark, find out where everything is.
There is a large area on most modern cruise liners. So take a two pronged approach by finding a map and also walking around all the decks to get accustomed to the layout.
Keep that map in your pocket everywhere that you go.
3. Get to know some of your fellow passengers.
Make sure particularly that you meet the people in the cabins nearest to you.
If you know each other, you are more likely to watch out for one another.
Avoid anyone who you consider to look a bit shifty, just like you do at home.
4. Try not to walk around alone too often.
There is a nice comfy feeling being a part of a crowd for good reason. If you do go on your own, make sure someone knows where you are headed to.
5. Don’t take too much money.
It is not necessary today as credit cards are acceptable in most places you will go to.

But make sure that they are safe as they are a major target for pick pockets and the like. Similarly, it may not be sensible to take your best, most expensive luggage with you. Rather than using a wallet or purse, get a money pouch which can be worn around you neck or waist. If you do not want to do that, only take a little money with you, leave the rest locked away in a safe.
If you take these few simple precautions, we are sure that you will have a wonderful cruise ship vacation and quickly rush off to book another one.

While I do agree that cruises are safe for the most part, these tips you have outlined are great advice for anyone who hasn't been before and wants to take precautions. In fact, they can be applied to most traveling, don't you think?
These were great tips for a safer cruise. Since it's a cruise ship vacation, I know that security in that kind of trip were too tight..and protecting one's self is really a necessity since traveling isn't that always safe. It's better be safe than sorry.
Thanks for sharing the tips for safe Cruise ship holiday. Looking for your next post.
Yes I agree but that applies to any holiday whether a cruise or just a visit to your local beach.
I have yet to go on a cruise, but I agree with Dan. It just seems as though one would be safe while on the ship. Going on an excursion out into a city or the wild could involve some dangerous situations, though. Thanks for posting! Maybe someday I'll get to go on a cruise vacation.
I went on a cruise several years ago and I have nothing but great things to say about it. I agree with you that I always felt pretty safe while I was there. I could see how there would be issue (and of course it's always wise to be aware of your situation) but I don't think there'd ever be to many issues (on ship atleast).
